Hello, I am Liam Nugent. I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and I am currently a student studying business management, business law, and marketing at Drake University, located in Des Moines, Iowa. I am 20 years old, 6 feet with shoes on, and I weigh 180 pounds. and my main hobbies are chess, basketball, tennis, weight lifting, and running. My favorite genre of music is hip hop but I enjoy listening to country, rock, and alternative music. I have plenty of movies that I enjoy watching but my favorite 5 movies in no particular order are The Dark Knight Rises, Big Fish, Goodfellas, The Shawshank Redemption, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. My favorite TV Shows in no particular order are Breaking Bad, True Detective specifically Season 1, Stranger Things, Eastbound and down, and Ozark. To wrap up my interests I will discuss my favorite foods. I love chicken wings, cheeseburgers, pizza, cheese curds, and ice cream.
I enjoy having a diverse interest in music, movies, and tv shows because it creates conversation with friends, family, etc. The only department I have trouble in is food. Most of my favorite foods are extremely American but I do enjoy trying new food. I think it is important to get out of your comfort zone and try new things such as food, because I love new experiences. I enjoy going out to eat not just because of the food but the overall experience. there is a lot of factors I consider when deciding if I had a good experience out to eat. I consider the atmosphere, quality of food, service, and most importantly if I would go back. Yeah sure, many places are good but I want to find a restaurant that consistently meets my expectations and raises them!
Lastly I will talk about my strengths, weaknesses and current job positions. I am extremely organized, confident, emphatic and hard working. I lack in dealing with over stimulating activities and I have a fair amount of anxiety. I am always trying to improve myself on a daily basis and help others as much as I can. I am currently working for the mens basketball team as a manger and I am the Vice President of Programming for the Interfraternity Council at Drake University. I enjoy working for the mens basketball team because I love the game and I get an insider perspective regarding the operations of a division 1 program. It is a very competitive environment at practice and games which I really enjoy being part of. I enjoy being part the programming chair for IFC because I can hold guest speaking events, become a better public speaker, and introduce people to new topics of discussion that are interesting to learn about.
